1
What is Resistance and Liberation?
Resistance & Liberation is a tactical shooter/sim based on upcoming Valve's new source engine. It will not only be a game, but a tribute to the men who died in the greatest war known to man-kind. Welcome to World War II.
2
Is another World War II game actually needed?
That depends on who you ask. A lot of people out there appeal to games with a faster paced arcade action game. However team RNL wants to take it one step further. We are striving to bring a new perspective to this massive undertaking known as World War II.
3
How realistic will the mod be?
We are striving for a totally immersive experience that rivals that of reality. It's an enormous task, but we have ideas that we feel will lead you to a new gaming experience.
4
How do you plan to achieve this new perspective?
Well first off, the biggest change will be the addition of strategy. No longer will the game feel like a big cycle of kill - be killed- respawn. Instead players will have to learn their weapons and adapt to the environments. Also solid teamwork will play a large role in who succeeds.
5
Does this mean solo players will have a tough time playing?
To be honest solo players have a hard time playing any game. Especially when going up against a clan or solid squad. In short, teamwork will be greatly rewarded but the option is still there for the people who operate alone.
6
With all this talk of teamwork, what can we expect to increase it?
Pretty much everything done in-game will benefit from teamwork in one way or another. Need cover while you throw that grenade? Need an enemy sniper taken out? Does the belt keep jamming up on the 30 cal gun? We could fill this whole section with examples but that would kill the fun.
7
Is gun jamming really needed?
Well you have to remember that this is a tactical simulation and these mishaps did occur. Although they will be toned down, this problem will arise from time to time.
8
Wait a minute, How can you tone down something and still claim to be realistic?
Even while RnL is a sim you have to remember it will always be a game. Some things will be changed to advance gameplay. However, all things altered will be minor. In no way will we nerf a weapon or give one side an advantage.
9
So what features will you be adding?
Good question. We don't want to spoil the fun, but we have several that will affect your control over your character as well as your perception of the environment. We want to give players a sense of being in control over their character, and their well-being.
10
Will there be lots of gore?
To a realistic standpoint, yes. This won't be the frag happy world of Quake, but blood and other disfigurements will be included.
11
When will RnL be released?
When it's finished. Unfortunately, we cannot be more specific than that, as there are many variables in the time that it could take.
12
What can we expect to see in the first public release?
